CVs are tailored for the role you’re aspiring to. They are also tailored for brevity to accommodate the individual reading your resume. CVs are a tool to present the highlights of your career, successes, and skills.
What a CV doesn’t highlight is all the small experiences you’ve accumulated over the years. Those (for some) ugly little jobs you did to get by but also make up your career narrative despite the eye rolls and sighs recruiters give when they see them included in an application.

🐕 Pet Feeder: Specialised in cat and dog feeding while owners were away.
📫 Mail Sorter: Sorted and delivered mail to 200 small New Zealand town residents during summer breaks.
🗞️ Paper Girl: Delivered over 100 papers to residents every day during school holidays.
👶 Baby Sitter: Looked after two children every weekend for a year.
🏡 Jr. Gardner: Landscaped mainly Grandmother and Aunty’s garden each summer.
👩🎓 Exam Supervisor: Oversaw end-of-year exam process for high school girls at a private school in New Zealand.
✅ Polling Clerk: Worked across two elections to assist in the smooth, accurate, and quick delivery of election results.
🎨 Apprentice Painter: Executed fine finishes to residential homes. Key skills: Sanding, paint stripping, and painting.
🍽️ Kitchen Hand: Assistant to deliver on-time meals to residents of a rest home.
📚 Circulation Assistant: Led a team in the efficient circulation of library materials, ensuring timely and accurate checkouts, returns, and shelving of books. Assisted in managing inventory, tracking overdue items, and providing excellent customer service to library patrons.
👩⚕️ Homecare Assistant: Provided personal care and companionship to disabled clients, helping with daily tasks and ensuring their well-being.
🎦 Assignment Desk Coordinator: Coordinated the flow of incoming work assignments, maintained schedule, and facilitated team communication to ensure on-time completion at the top broadcaster.
💻 Receptionist: Managed front desk operations, greeted visitors, answered phones, and handled administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing office supplies.
📁 Administrator: Provided administrative support in an office environment, including managing schedules, maintaining records, handling correspondence, and organising office systems.
